SABAH Nepal itself does not provide direct loans, but we facilitate linkages with financial institutions that offer micro-credit and small business loans to home based workers. We also provide financial literacy training to help members manage their finances, build credit history, and access formal banking services.
You can contact SABAH Nepal at our main office in Lalitpur. For specific contact numbers and email addresses, please visit our contact page or reach out through our social media channels. Our team will be happy to assist you with any inquiries about membership, products, partnerships, or support.
While the majority of home based workers are women and our primary focus is on women's empowerment, SABAH Nepal also works with male home based workers who are financially deprived and marginalized. However, women's economic empowerment remains our central mission.
SABAH is a regional initiative established under the SAARC Development Fund (SDF) to create business organizations for home based workers across SAARC member states. The focus is to establish Trade Facilitation Centres (TFCs) based on the model of SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre in India. SABAH Nepal is the Nepal chapter of this regional initiative.
Currently, home based workers in Nepal lack specific legal protection. They remain largely uncounted in national statistics and are often exploited. SABAH Nepal actively advocates for policies that recognize and protect home based workers, including inclusion in labor laws, social security schemes, and national surveys.
You can support SABAH Nepal by purchasing products made by our home based workers from our retail outlets or online, donating to our programs, volunteering your skills (design, marketing, training), partnering with us for bulk orders, spreading awareness about home based workers' issues, or sponsoring training programs for women in need.
SABAH Nepal is governed by a Board of Directors elected by its general assembly. The board includes home based worker leaders, professionals, and advisors who guide the organization's strategic direction. The day-to-day operations are managed by a team led by the Managing Director and Program Coordinator.
Yes, SABAH Nepal is affiliated with HomeNet South Asia (HNSA), HomeNet International (HNI), and BEES Network Ltd. We also work closely with SAARC Development Fund (SDF) and collaborate with SEWA India and other regional and global home based worker organizations.
